This is the steering stop. when you turn hard one way the bolt head hits the little bump stopping the tire. back them out a little bit and lock them down again. sometimes they break, so be easy and ready for it. some penetrating oil will help!
you have 3 options. Run a wheel spacer to get them out a little more. 2. Adjust your Steering stops so they don't hit. This rout you will loose some turning radius, but the rubbing will stop and it usually costs 2 bucks for new bolts. or 3. get new control arms. adjustable's that are built from tube. Aqua Jeep runs a stock wheel, 31" duratracs and a tubular control arm. i don't think he had to adjust the stops. we could cut the lip off of the stock control and box in the bottom with some metal and the welder. but being on 31's now and a 3" lift. it would be best to start shopping for some decent aftermarket control arms.
I guess 4. get new wheels with more offset.
Adjust the stops for now and look for some new control arms is my .02
dude! Sick, those will be perfect. if you go bigger you have to trim a bunch, gears, control arms, steering, it sucks. 31's and a 3" is perfect to start from on an xj.
I love My Goodyear wrangler Duratrac's i ran them in a metric 33" (305/70/16) and now a 35" (315/75/16) They have been great. i got over 45k out of my last set with 25-30% life still left on the tires. they preform awesome in snow and ice. i can 2wd most places people are 4low, good on the road, and fine for road, trail, rock, sand and mud. Ive wheeled mine in 3 states no and would not run another tire for a weekend warrior.

John.
Now they rub really bad at full left and right. Here's the passenger side. Any ideas on how to save my tires?
