OHO! Shnap! Yeah, they just pulled the pump, when you drive it down here to install the bumper we can swap the stuff out. i have a pump in the MJ that should work. and i need that bracket.
any of the post 96 jeeps should work (xj) cherokee that is. Very few cherokees came W/O A/C so sourcing used parts wont be hard. the hard part will be installing a new condenser in the dash box. (heater cor swap) ive done several, just takes a good solid day to do. post rounding up the parts.
WAIT, Can you post a pic of the under hood? i might have what you need for pump and would swap you out the A/C delete bracket (if its right)
My XJ does not have an AC compressor. I want to get one for the upcoming summer season. However, I do NOT want to spend hundreds for a brand new one. Is there a compatible used one I con pull off a junk yard? If so and they don't have any XJs, what year and model of Jeep should I look for when pulling it off?
Id bet because you took the cables off and the put them back on it got a little better connection. id replace the terminals with marine ones, and clean the posts on the battery with a wire brush. sounds like connections and/or wires. FYI you can get 12v off the battery and still have it be bad. a true "Load Test" is the only way to find out. if you pull it the parts store can do it real fast on the bench for you. Remember all batteries have "cold cranking amps" thats the real strength of the battery.
as far as the battery, i put a multi meter up to it with the cables off and was getting 12.3 volts. Another funny thing happened today when i tried to start. it was attempting to turn over and over and over as i held the key to the start position. after a few seconds of holding it, the XJ started up!! any idea why?
alrighty...I had some tools loaned out from some cowokers. I didn't have the PB blaster but DW40. Beat the hell out of the drag link and it finally popped free. The coworkers gave me a tap and die set that I used on the end of that boogered up pin.
I found a vid that shows that back side of the stabilizer/what your fighting. Go grab a can of PB Blaster. Hit it 3 times a day with that. put the tires back on and set the jeep on the ground. steer it back and forth in the driveway a few times each day, when you hit it with the PB. After a couple days of that grab a torch and heat the piss out of it, then beat on it with a hammer. The heavier the hammer the better. (short handled sledge) it will free up eventually. now that the ends are boogered up you will need to get a new pin for the hole/stabilizer.
if you need a new stabilizer i have a pile of them here at the house. you will be fine W/O one at all. i've not had one for over 5 years now. it's really just a shock absorber for your hands on the wheel, incase you nail something really hard. takes up some slack too, but not really that much.

did you have the battery load tested yet? or the alternator tested for voltage? after talking via PM id still bet its bad battery and or cables ad connections.
can you get a pic of the back side of the stabilizer? I see the problem with the stud and threads, but im confused on something 1st. what is holding the thing from slipping off if the threads and nut are on this side? not sure what could be holding it.

Replaced the front brake rotors yesterday and now ALL wobble of any kind is gone!

After installation my steering wheel was a bit side ways. I managed to get that straight. Now I have a Toe-in of about 1/2" on the front
here is the new linkage with new dust boots.
